    To a talented young lady...THANKS!

Gift with a bowThere is a talented young lady (8 yr. old) in the Twin Cities that made this bracelet for me:

I am not sure what it is made out of....but it is gorgeous!  This young lady has got HUGE creative talent!

You see, we had been discussing her jewelry making skills because she wanted to make money to save up for a horse and things....other details were exchanged in the conversation but she ended up giving me this bracelet as a "Thank you" gift.  Based on our conversation I find this act to be totally unexpected and very generous!!!  But in the back of my mind is the old Seinfeld sketch about when to stop the "Thank you note" chain (probably have to be 25 yr old or older to get it) so I thought I would do something a little different to say "thank you" to her...post this as an advertisement of her work.

StarThis is great stuff!  Keep up the good work!
(Did I mention that she is 8....What Talent!  What a future!)Star

    Calling all Prayer Warriors....

    Time for more prayer power!

I know of many people who need extra prayer right now for various reasons and in various circumstances and so I am attempting to put the word out to as many other people as possible to flex some major prayer muscle.  Baring teeth We aren't praying for gold, silver, or bronze....we are praying for precious people and God's ultimate glory.

First of all, my friend Cari just got the clean bill of health upon successfully fighting triple negative breast cancer....now she just found a brain tumor....with surgery probably on Friday....with 3 little ones at home....and other details.  You can follow her story by reading it on the Undomestic link in the "Blogs I follow" section.  Keep in mind that you may have to read multiple entries to get caught up on the details.  But for whatever it is worth, I will say that I am praying for peace and comfort for Cari and all her family, wisdom and care for the medical staff, complete healing.............and sometimes I just don't have words so I ask God to do something BIG!  (Sounds somewhat juvenile, but I really don't care...God can handle anything and everything!)

Secondly, I want to alert you to Chasing 2 Boys and Julie's Family.  These two ladies need healing in various ways but again, it may take some extra reading to get the full picture.

In the past,  I have already told you about Donna's Journey, CFHusband, and the link to the Kesselhon Family.  These situations are still on going.

And, this is not an exhaustive list.  The other Blogs I follow have issues from time to time....just not right now.  Some people just don't blog, so to tell you everyones story would take up a lot of time and energy and at this moment I don't have permission to make their stuff public.

The list I have here is just a list of blogs that have people sharing their stories in their own words....so it is already public.  From what I have seen is a beautiful picture of people dealing with so much icky stuff, in a wide variety of circumstances, with God never changing.  Love, provision, and care are easy to see.  I am learning from all these individuals.  At this point, I am not so sure that I would be able to be so faithful/joyful if I were in their shoes.  But, prayer is powerful!...no matter what!  Please join me in prayer on behalf of these individuals!

    Olympics time!

    Hip Hip Hooray!
I am excited to watch all the athletes do the best they can while at the top of their game....WOW-ZA!

We have this unwritten rule at our house (prekids so now with kids it needs revisiting) that Nathan pretty much gets all remote controls to the TV for any and all sports almost all the time....until the Olympics roll around and then I get the remote controlls!  Open-mouthed  (this is a very simplistic rule and sounds sort of crazy now that I have typed it, but please don't read too much into it because it is not an accurate reflection of our marriage.  Rather it is a statement about what we each prefer to watch on TV...when it comes to sports.) SWEET!

The reality is that we have kids now and their routines...which involves TV at various times.....SO DON'T TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THE OLYMPICS UNTIL AFTER I HAVE HAD TIME TO WATCH MY RECORDINGS!!!....ah, modern technology and the ability to record/playback.

Until I watch my recordings I will be watching the Olympics events that my family participate in:

    How Many of Me?!?!

Just got an email about "Names" that I found interesting.  "How many people in the United States of America have the same name as me?!?!"  If you are curious like me, I bet you will check it out...because of identy theft on the rise, and the power of big internet search engines, and the popularity and ease that virtually anyone can put "stuff" on the web, I have developed a tendency to google my self and my immediate family members on probably a monthly basis...yes, that is FUNKY, I know! But stick with me 'cuz here are some FUNKY stats because I DID go to the web site:

(given our first and last name combos)
There are 62 Sarahs in the US, 11 Tylers, 114 Elizabeths (13 Beths), and 23 Nathans (406 with his legal name)....Hmmm.  No wonder the Facebook and MySpace stuff has such long lists for us....there are A LOT of us!!!!  Actually, there are 24,384 people in the US with our same last name.  That explains the many people (ex: door to door salesmen and others) that comment about someone they know based on our last name whenever they hear it.  Funny, Nathan is a MN transplant, I married into the name, chances are very high that no one around here knows "the family".  They do know the famous golfer though, but then there is the different spelling to be addressed!  Wink  I also typed in my maiden name...less than 335 people in the US....yep, introductions before I was married never caused anyone to ask about Mr. or Mrs. Soandso...just a ton of funny looks about how to spell our name.  Tongue out

If you go to www.howmanyofme.com/  then you can put in your name and see for yourself. Smile  How many of you are there?

    Strawberries!!!

My kids love to eat berries...any of 'em actually...they get their LOVE of Strawberries from Nathan!!! Wink

Here are pics from our Strawberry Picking Trip a few weeks back:
