Philadelphia - Thanks for the Memories!

Airplane Got to go to Philly for a short trip/long weekend....just Nathan and I.  Sooooo Nice.  Great friends watched the kids...everything went well, but they had to deal with some vomit and things (no major fevers and sickness though) while we were gone....everyone was such troopers!!!!  Heard there was snow on Sunday while we were gone.  That is interesting.  But back to Philly....fun city....good food...nice people...saw a ton:

(Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, America's 1st Zoo, and the Rocky Steps. Open-mouthed)  Can't wait to take the kids back when they are old enough to absorb the history there!

Star But really the whole point of the trip was the fact that Nathan won tickets to the World Series....Game 4 specifically.  (Nathan won the ticket package thingie ultimately from MasterCard....so I guess the commercials are true).  It was weird to not be cheering for the Twins, but it was still fun to be a Phillies fan for a day......Go Fightin' Phills!!!!!!!!  Philly for Bsbll-137Philly for Bsbll-169

    Fun Fall Leaves

I used to love Fall in the leaves as a kid, but a lot of those memories are cloudy.  And then in the growing-up process, I kind of stopped playing in the leaves....I don't know how or why or when.  But this year is different, Baby!!!  So so much fun!!!! Wooo Hooo!!!!

    Bucket List and then some

Been thinking about a lot of things lately!  Nothing has really kept me awake at night necessarily.  One general thing that I have been thinking about is my 100 things to do before I die list aka My Bucket List.  So now I think it is time to sort of GO PUBLIC with some of it.....to compare and contrast and discuss with the rest of you.....to have some minor degree of accountability.....and heck, I actually have a picture of one thing....go up in a hot air balloon. Open-mouthed
Fam Mid Oct 08-010Fam Mid Oct 08-016These were actually above our house last week.  So beautiful and free looking.
I would also like to try some skydiving and/or hand/hang gliding.  Ah, the freedom and beauty of the skies, but no confinement....like the thing that is not on my bucket list is to go bungee jumping.  I don't want that pulling on my joints....it just doesn't seem worth it.

Also on my list are places that I would like to see with my own eyes: Australia, Japan, India, Kenya, Egypt, South Africa, and possibly Ghana.

And the one thing that I have managed to put off for years and years and it is time to stop with the excuses....RUN A MARATHON!  My goal is to do one sometime in 2009.  (Side note: I have been running so much more the last couple of months and seeing a bunch of progress...I was feeling so good about doing a marathon sooner rather than later and then came the reality check from trainer at the Y today...aka butt kicking....that I realized that I need a bunch of accountability to make this marathon happen in 2009....dang that trainer is good, but she totally kicked my back side and then some!!!)

So there you have it.....at least some of it.....I have finally gone public....Phew.  Thanks for listening.

Tyler's First Fieldtrip and Bus Ride

WHOoo Hooo.  Tyler (and Daddy) got to go to an apple orchard this past Thursday for school.  Everyone had a blast and was really tuckered out.  The bus was exciting.  Daddy coming along was exciting.  The tractor and hay ride was exciting.  Playing on the bales of hay was exciting.  There was a giant playground....and the picking of 3 apples per person....and a picnic lunch......oh to be three again.  Wink

    Chat Pack 2

    Today's Question:
Thinking back to all the great TV series finales that you have seen over the years, which show do you believe had the best final episode?

I am pretty sure that I watch way too much television, but I don't have an answer for the "series finales" part of this question.  I just don't watch TV that way....or something.  What I do know is that everytime Dancing With The Stars ends....that is some cool stuff!!!!  Hey, DWTS just started again....I am already kinda pullin' for Maurice Greene!!!! While I can't do the worm, he is my kind a dancer....interpretive stuff.  Tongue out

    StarWhat's your answer?

    "Unneccesary Quotation Marks"

I have never claimed to be a great writer.  I have never claimed to be a great speaker.  In fact, English may be my language of origin, the one that I am most fluent at.....but I have crummy vocab, weak spelling skills, and poor grammars skills.  When I type emails and this blog I look for short cuts where ever and when ever and in an attempt to add more life to the page....I mess with colors and fonts and add all the faces (SmileOpen-mouthedWinkBaring teeth) and totally mess with puctuation.....like....this......

So when I found this blog....well, I laugh every time......check it out:

    More from September

....I had so much to say and so many pictures to show from last month....but I let time sneak right on by.....I will attempt to put it in here....abbreviated of course....I mean really.... I would rather not bore you, there are more adventures on the calendar for October, and heck, there is the Christmas letter to write soon....it is time to prioritize, and be efficient, and Blah, blah, blah...Wink

Nathan had two action packed weekends-
    1) a men's retreat with a buddy...they try to do this annually so we have reached the point where there are no picutres for that one.
    2) a BASEBALL Airplane/Roadtrip...cram in 3 games in 3 different cities on the eastcoast.....all because Nathan's beloved Yankees are going to switch stadiums next season.  Red heartOpen-mouthed

Another weekend was action packed because 2 huge things happened-
    1) Tyler's school had their annual Bike-a-thon to raise money for the whole school system.  There was so much going on that morning....food, popcorn, playground fun, face painting, silent auction, a DJ Wink, crazy hair stuff......Tyler loved biking and seeing his teachers around.  Beth loved the petting zoo.  Nathan and I just tried to keep up....but I did squeeze in some dances with my children.Tongue out

    2) Right after the Bike-a-thon, I busted down the road to the Dells to meet 8 other Hot Mommas for a Moms Only weekend!  Thanks to everyone for their part of the great weekend...while I know the Dells is surely not Vegas.....What happens in the Dells stays in the Dells...so these pictures are all you get.  Wink
