Banana-head sit on na na na na (Beth buying herself time to look around the room to find something to put in her joke) na na na LIGHT! (or chair, door, window, snow....whatever is in sight)

 

Yeah, so that is Beth's version.

 

Tyler is fond of rhyming and silly sounding words and is starting to get the play on words and even had a few real knock knock jokes memorized so if Tyler is telling the joke be prepared for the longest answer ever given....full of rhymes, the word "cous cous", some variation of a real joke, and whatever is in eyesight too.

 

We are CRAZY for Knock Knocks at our house!?!?

Do you know any good ones!?!?!

 

....so says Tyler.

Beth and I however love the stuff.  Been eating a ton of grapefruit lately....just the two of us....Beth could keep eating it all the time and only quits when I tell her it is all gone. 

 

But Tyler doesn't like grapefruit. 

 

Me: Why don't you like it son? (after he has tried some and spits it out with much fan fare)

 

Tyler: It tastes like when you put your finger in your ear and then you take it out and you eat it.

 

 Say it aint so!!!

 

(Nathan did ask him about it later and Tyler claims that he has never eaten earwax and a grapefruit actually tastes how earwax smells....I get the smell/taste connection when applied to other things.....but earwax and grapefruit....WHOA!  Funky.)

....this is the highlight/high point of the day. 

  

Kids in carseats in the winter just don't mix....it is all the winter garb and trying to get them in, somewhat comfortable, warm, safe....it is pure chaos!!!!! Sometimes even an all out war between me, the kids, and the wintery elements....Uggghh.

 

Had a great Christmas and Christmas "vacation"....Tyler didn't have school and Nathan took a big vacation!   Hope you all had a good time too!  Can't believe that it is 2009.  I purposely keep writing it down so that it will hopefully stick in my head soon.   

 

Just a quick little entry today....until I get my "regular routine" hat on and get into the swing of work, school, groceries.... again now that it is 2009.    Here is a picture of Tyler's Christmas gift to Nathan and I that he made at school.  It is a recipe holder (I expect that we will be making a lot of recipe holders for people in this coming year) but look closely at the words on the recipe....it is my favorite part of the gift....hope you can read it!
